Scholarship Award
- A scholarship in the amount of $500.00 will be awarded each year by the Minnesota Metro Senior Babe Baseball League to a baseball player in accordance with the following criteria.
- The recipient must be a player who is in his final season of Metro Senior Babe Baseball eligibility.
- The recipient must have plans to attend an institution of higher learning whether it is a four-year college or university, technical school or two-year school.
- The recipient must be a good citizen whose conduct on and off the baseball field reflects credit on himself, his family, his community and the Senior Babe Ruth Baseball program.
- In selecting the recipient for this award, consideration shall be given to the recipient's need.
- The award will be decided by the Metro Senior Babe Ruth Board of Directors.
- The recipient must be a legal Minnesota Metro Senior Babe Ruth player from the Tier I division.
- A one page essay will be completed by a participant that shows how Babe Ruth baseball has helped the player become a good citizen on and off the field. An emphasis should be made on himself, his family, his community, and the Senior Babe Ruth Baseball program.
- The essay will be due to the Metro Senior Babe Ruth Board by June 20 of the current year.
- The Metro Senior Babe Ruth Baseball Board will gather and choose an overall Winner.
- The award of the Gordy Larson Scholarship will be made at the Senior Babe Ruth State Tournament.
- The award will be made directly to the institution of higher learning that is directed by the winning recipient.
- Essay's can be turned into the Senior Babe Ruth Board via e-mail.
- All entries must be received by June 20.
